Generating Traffic Leads

So you have this awesome product, you just know that everyone is going to want it and you can't wait to get your website online so that you can start seeing your visitor counter spinning. You would think that finding a bunch of people to come to your website wouldn't be THAT hard, right? I mean, you've got all the right stuff... the product, the website, the energy....what else is there?

Boy oh boy did you fall into the same trap that everyone else that tries to start a web base business finds themselves in. Generating traffic to your website is HARD, and don't let anyone tell you any different. But the good news is, it's not impossible. There are tons of different traffic generating tools available on the Internet. The problem with that is everyone is trying to make a business out of that too, hence your forking over some major cash if you want to see traffic. But why? Why let people make money off of you trying to make money off of other people?

It doesn't have to be a vicious circle. There is a better way. It's called hard work. If you are serious about starting a business, there will be hard work involved. Don't let these get rich quick schemes fool you. If you could get so rich how come everyone isn't sipping coladas by the pool in their million dollar homes? Because starting your own business is hard work and getting people to see what you do, like your products, and actually get them to pull out a credit card, is even harder!

Here are some quick tips I've pulled together from my attempts at generating traffic:

1. Write an article. Yes, articles get you exposure. Exposure leads to search engine coverage. Search engine coverage leads to the possibility that someone might actually see that your site exists!

2. Try offline marketing. I know it seems crazy but not everyone surfs the Internet all day looking for specifically your product! It's time to get down to the old fashioned nitty gritty. Send out some brochures. Post a couple flyers on billboards. Be your own PR.

3. Talk about your website and your product to anyone that will listen. Make someone curious. They might not know they want what you have to offer until you show them.

4. Not all Internet traffic generators are bad. There are a few out there that actually generate traffic to your site that can help you move up in the SEO rankings or at least Alexa rankings.

So once again, I will leave you with this in mind. Starting your own business is risky, it's hard, it takes time, and patience. However, Once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad. The same goes for generating traffic to your site. You will find what works for you and soon you will see... it works really well. Stop Dreaming - Make It Reality!
